Description of Course: A physically demanding, comprehensive program dealing with the necessary knowledge and skills relative to rescue procedures needed for self rescue. Emphasis will be placed on search techniques, communications, accountability/location and self rescue procedures. Students must be in adequate physical condition to perform 100% of all practical exercises.

This is an entry level, 32 hour course to familiarize the new recruit with the basic skills needed to function safely at an emergency scene. This introductory course is targeted to entry level and junior fire fighters and will provide a knowledge and skills foundation for future training.

Description of Course: This program is designed to prepare fire department personnel for implementation of a stand-by rescue team at structure fires and certain other incidents. Information is provided from existing fire departments utilizing the concept successfully. The exercises are physically demanding and participants must beable hang and support their own weight in full turnout gear.

Course Goal: Reduce the risk of fire fighter injuries and deaths in Pennsylvania. The class will enable fire fighters to become more aware and familiar with procedures that may be used to prevent or perhaps lessen the seriousness of injuries or even save their lives.
Description of Course: A physically demanding, comprehensive program dealing with the necessary knowledge and skills relative to rescue procedures needed for self rescue. Emphasis will be placed on search techniques, communications, accountability/location and self rescue procedures. Students must be in adequate physical condition to perform 100% of all practical exercises.

Course Description: Truck companies, regardless of whether they arrive on an aerial device, squad, or engine, are the ‘combat engineers’ of fire attack operations. This course, for experienced fire fighters, will introduce the student to the basic concept of truck company operations and duties, including organizing the delivery of truck company services, selection and use of key tools, advanced ventilation and forcible entry theory and practices, search and rescue, and other fire attack support functions.
